Yesterday we made the trip to Cork for a top of the table clash against Kanturk RFC.

Thomond kicked off the scoring after 7 minutes with a try from Werner Kruger, soon after Kanturk scored and converted to lead the score 7- 5. Thomond regained the lead with some fantastic rugby from Jamie Mcgarry setting up Luke Costello to score under the post which was converted by Jason Kiely to lead the score Thomond 12 - Kanturk 7. Another well worked try for Joshua Dillion with the conversion missed to leave the score Thomond 17- Kanturk 7. Kanturk hit back with a try and a missed conversion to leave the score Kanturk 12 - Thomond 17. Thomond stretched their lead again with a try from Jake Connolly under the post followed by a conversion from Jason Kiely. Just before the break Kanturk scored a try and also converted to leave the score at half time 24 - 19 in favor to Thomond.

Two minutes into the Second half Thomond won a penalty and opted for the post to stretch their lead 27 points to 19. Further try by Andrew Lyons in the corner, conversion missed Thomond 32 - Kanturk 19. Kanturk hit back soon after with a try, conversion missed to lead the score Thomond 32 - Kanturk 24. Nail biting moments for the traveling supporters as In the last 15 minutes a converted try for Kanturk left the score Kanturk 31 - Thomond 32. Soon after Thomond were awarded a penalty from a scrum converted by kiely 31 - 35 to Thomond. In the dying moments a try from Jake Connolly converted by Kiely to leave the final score Kanturk 31 - Thomond 42, sending the royal blue supporters home happy. All around a good display by the Thomond 15. 

Man of the match was awarded to Makz Zerdel.
